HTC LegendAfter headlining their spot at the Mobile World Congress with the Android-running Desire, HTC unveiled two more smartphones: the Android-based HTC Legend (shown above) that looks like what you’d get if you mated a MacBook and HTC’s older Hero, and the HD mini, a compact WinMo-based PocketPC that’s considered a “lite” version of the HD2.

Sony Ericsson Aspen (1)

The Windows Phone 7 platform may be just around the corner (Microsoft is expected to unveil the rebranded mobile platform at the Mobile World Congress on March 30th), but that’s not stopping Sony Ericsson form unveiling a new smartphone that runs on Windows Mobile 6.5.3. Tagged as the Aspen, the new handset features a full QWERTY keypad for messaging, and a 2.4-inch 320 x 240 screen that kind of reminds us of Nokia’s E72 (but with a touchscreen and stylus).

Garmin-Asus M10

In a sea of iPhones and Android-based devices, here’s a smartphone with a different twist: Garmin-Asus officially announced the partnership’s latest handheld, the M10, a full-featured Windows Mobile-based smartphone that comes with Garmin’s satellite navigation services.

HTC this week has begun shipping the HD2 to Europe and Taiwan. The US should get a version of the HD2 early next year through a major carrier (expected to be T-Mobile USA). Viewed as the most powerful Windows Mobile device available, the HD2 tops HTC’s range of smartphones with a high-end spec list that includes a 4.3-inch high-res, capacitive multi-touch screen, a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 3G, Wi-fi, GPS and Bluetooth connectivity, plus a 5MP camera.
