It looks like Disney is going all-out with the Tron brand. We’ve got Tron-themed 3D glasses, and we’ve seen Tron-themed gaming mice and keyboards. Now, they’ve teamed up with Monster Cable to put out a line of Tron-themed products highlighted by this pair of over-ears. The Daft Punk Edition Tron headphones are designed for all-around use, which basically includes gaming, home cinema and music (so yeah, that’s pretty much everything), but what makes this pair special? Like any other Tron-themed product, it’s all about the lights.
Razer has already unveiled this mouse months ago (they also have a TRON-themed keyboard and mouse mat bundle due out soon), but in case you’re a fan of either the movie or the old game, you’re going to want this: Razer’s TRON Gaming Mouse is now out, it costs $100, and it still looks as cool as ever, even if you’re not into TRON.
Oakley just announced that they’ll be celebrating the release of TRON: Legacy by releasing a TRON Limited Edition TRON 3D Gascan glasses. What’s so special about it? They’re 3D glasses. Designed by Oakley, who makes glasses that generally look pretty cool. The result is a cool-looking pair of 3D glasses that’s etched with TRON-inspired graphics along the side. Oh, and they also built it with HDO-3D tech on the lens that technically makes this pair “optically correct 3D eyewear,” and Oakley’s molds, curves and materials that make it precisely aligned and comfy enough to wear for a couple of hours in a moviehouse. The TRON Limited Edition 3D Gascan will be available in November for $150. Take note that it’s made for indoor movies and is not ideal for normal daily use though, so unless you’re a hardcore TRON fan from back when TRON was huge or just an Oakley collector looking for rare pairs, you might want to think it through. Disney Consumer Products and gaming peripherals maker Razor teamed up to come out with new gaming gear inspired by Disney’s upcoming TRON: Legacy movie. Never mind if you weren’t a child of the 80’s and you don’t have an idea what the original Tron movie or Tron arcade game was all about: this desktop set looks sweet.
