T-Mobile has announced an update for the myTouch 3G smartphone called the myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition. It’s technically the same myTouch 3G phone, encased in a (very) cool-looking Fender guitar-themed shell, plus a few spec updates to keep up with the rock theme. The Fender edition adds a 3.5mm audio jack for connecting a standard headset and a 16GB microSD card (the standard myTouch 3G comes with a 4GB card) preloaded with video and audio clips from “iconic musicians” (although we don’t know exactly who just yet).
Price and release dates aren’t available yet, but T-Mobile’s standard myTouch 3G kit is priced at $150.
Previously known as the HTC Magic, the T-Mobile myTouch 3G with Google will be sold in stores by August 5, but is now up for pre-sale at www.t-mobilemytouch.com, with a $200 price tag for a two-year contract.
