Super Talent has announced that they’ll be shipping the 2-Terabyte RAIDDrive solid state disk in early October. It connects to a desktop through the PCIe 2.0 x8 interface and is listed to feature a 4GB/sec bandwidth (which is more than ten times the speed of the usual SATA II bus) and write speeds of up to 1.2GB/sec.

OCZ has just announced the Agility EX series of solid state drives that bears the distinction of currently being the industry’s most affordable SLC (single-level cell) NAND-based SSD.
The OCZ Agility EX is designed with a slim, lightweight alloy housing and features an Indilinx controller and a 64MB cache for read and write speeds of up to 255MB/s and 195MB/s respectively.

Patriot Memory has just released their Koi SSD Series of drives that are marketed to match Apple Mac platforms. Available in 128 and 256GB capacities, the Koi SSD includes a 64MB cache for sequential read/write speeds of up to 260MB/s and 180MB/s. Of course, the Apple-specific design doesn’t really make it exclusive for Macs since it’s built to connect through a common SATA interface, but the Koi line is listed to have been “rigorously tested” in Apple’s labs, so there you go.
Since they’re solid state drives, they come with the usual benefits that include energy efficiency and shock resistance. Patriot also offers a 5-year warranty to make for a sweet deal.

Memory maker Kingston has just released a new line of performance-tuned solid state drives under their SSDNow family called the V+ Series. Available in 64, 128m and 256GB capacities, the new line of drives boast fast read (220MB/sec) and write speeds (up to 180MB/sec) for people who need performance.

After coming out with separate SSD upgrades for the Asus Eee PC and Dell’s Mini 9 netbooks, Active Media Products follows it up with an SSD upgrade for HP Mini netbooks called the Sabertooth Z. The SSD modules are available in 16 and 32GB capacities and are built with a PATA/ IDE interface and a ZIF connector for fitting the HP Mini 1000, 1010NR, 1030NR, and 2510P netbooks. Both capacities are listed to run 82MB/s read and 38MB/s write speeds, which is expected to cut bootup and load times in half. For HP Mini owners looking to increase a bit of performance, the SSD upgrades are now selling on Amazon for $70 (16GB) and $110 (32GB).
