Sony’s Bridge for Mac software will let your Xperia phone sync with iTunes   Sony bridge for mac

We have no idea how many people own a Mac and an Android-based Xperia smartphone (and not an iPhone), but in case you’re one of them, then this is for you. Sony has released a new Mac OS application called Sony Ericsson Bridge for Mac, which will let you connect and sync your Xperia phone with your Mac. Sounds like a simple task, but if you’re a Mac-and-Xperia user, then you’re already aware that Sony’s syncing software has been limited to Windows PCs in the past.

Sony trademarks ‘Xperia Sola’ name for the US market   Sony Xperia Sola

Sony has filed a trademark application for ‘Xperia Sola’ (meaning ‘alone’ or ‘only’ in English) with the US Patent and Trademark office. The filing alone doesn’t reveal the phone that the name is going to be used on, but there it could mean one of two things. It could either be the US name for the Xperia S smartphone that they introduced at CES 2012, or it could be an entirely new phone.

Sony Tablet S: now selling for $100 less   Sony S1 2

If you were looking for a tablet to splurge some holiday-earned cash on, you might be interested in this: Sony has reduced the price of their Tablet S by $100, with the 16GB version now starting at $400 and the 32GB model priced at $500. It’s not the newest Android-based tablet off the block, but a good option (that just got even better with a hundred bucks off the price) if you’re shopping for a well-designed Android-based tablet.

Remember the Dash? You know, the 7-inch internet viewer-slash-media player-slash-bedside digital alarm clock that Sony unveiled in CES back in January? You probably don’t. Or if you do, you probably remember it for being something neat to have beside your bed, but you weren’t willing to shell out $200 for something that does the same things that your smartphone or tablet already has covered. Now, if you thought it could have been useful but if only it didn’t cost that much, then here’s something you might be interested in: Sony just announced two more Dash devices called the HID-B7 and HID-B70. The difference with these two new kits? They won’t cost $200.

They just announced a new line of premium portable media players that looks all set to take on the iPod touch and they’re just about to start shipping the Tablet S, but hey, if you already own an iPod, iPhone or iPad, Sony’s still thinking about you. They just announced a couple of new speaker docks designed to work with iOS devices, headlined by the RDP-X500iP.
