A 24-inch 3D TV for the PS3? That’s a lot of seemingly random numbers, but that’s exactly what Sony pulled out during their keynote presentation at E3. The new TV is specifically designed to be used with the PS3, giving players an affordable 3D-capable display that comes bundled with a pair of active shutter 3D glasses.
No one knows why this guy chose to lug around his small CRT TV and Xbox to this Starbucks branch in Anchorage, Alaska—in a shopping cart, no less—because, well, no one really wanted to bother him. Evidently, the branch wasn’t full at the time (or maybe Alaskan Starbucks joints are simply more peaceful), and since he really isn’t bothering anyone, it shouldn’t be a big deal. It’s just nice to know that someone’s getting his money back using the free Wi-fi. “You’re asking me to pay what for a huge half-skinny half-1 percent extra hot split quad shot (two shots decaf, two shots regular) latte with whip? Ok, but if you don’t mind, I’ll be using your free internet connection. Now, kind sir, if you can be so kind as to point me to a quiet spot where I can plug this in?”
This one’s for you, guitar-player-who-thinks-Rock-Band-is-for-sissies. Game developer Seven45 Studios will be releasing a new Rock Band-type rhythm game called Power Gig: Rise of the SixString for the PS3 and Xbox 360. What’s new? For starters, this game won’t be using fake four-buttoned guitar-looking controllers; your main controller will be a fully functional six-string electric axe that can also work on its own when plugged into an amp.
Sony has just announced that they’ll be releasing a bundle that includes a copy of The Watchmen Director’s Cut Blu-ray movie with parts one and two of The Watchmen: The End is Nigh PS3 game. The idea is so simple that it’s actually surprising that it hasn’t been done before. The PlayStation 3 game console is also a Blu-ray player after all, and the game is based on the movie. Now they packed both, packaged it as “The Watchmen: The End is Nigh – The complete Experience”, and is selling it for $49.99.
The Director’s Cut disc includes an additional 25 minutes of footage (which may or may not include more cameos of Dr. Manhattan’s “Bluetooth Dongle”), and additional artwork. The PS3-only bundle is now available on Amazon.
