Sony takes PS Jailbreak to court, gets blocked in Australia   PS jailbreak blocked

That collective sigh you just heard came from PS3 gamers in Australia, after a court ruled in favor of Sony that temporarily bans Oz Modchips and Quadtronics from distributing the PS Jailbreak USB device in the country. The PS Jailbreak USB dongle allows gamers to copy and load games into the Playstation 3’s hard drive, which opens the console up to software piracy by allowing games to run without loading the original game disc.

The PS3 can be ‘jailbroken’ using an upcoming USB dongle   PS jailbreak

Interested in jailbreaking your Playstation 3? A new USB dongle called the “PS Jailbreak,” set to arrive before the month ends, promises to help you with that. The $150 accessory is basically a modchip that allows you to run games straight off the PS3’s hard drive without needing the game disc, but since you don’t have to hard-wire it into your system, it supposedly won’t break the warranty.
