A report from Taiwan says that HP is planning to pump out two major products this year that involves a tablet PC and notebook that will come with integrated mini projectors. Before tackling the details, here’s why it might (yeah, italics) be a good idea: you have a portable notebook—say, around 13 inches—that always goes where you go. You frequently travel for business, and you also use it during your downtime. Wouldn’t it be nice to have to skip on bringing another bag for a separate projector too?  It would also be nice to watch videos stretched across a wall instead of having you and a couple of friends bunched around a small laptop screen.

RoyalTek intros 4.6 inch porta projector   RoyalTek RPJ 2000RoyalTek has introduced the RPJ-2000, a tiny portable projector that measures 4.64 inches long and less than an inch thick, but is able to come up with a 65-inch image. It’s powered by a built-in 1200mAh battery and is equipped with a 14lm LED bulb that’s rated for up to 20,000 hours. Certified for use with Apple’s iPods and iPhones (with an add-on $43 adapter), the RPJ-2000 can also connect to the usual devices such as laptops and set-top boxes with Video input and VGA ports. Despite the size, it still offers the basics, with an on-screen display function, a manual focus wheel, and an integrated 0.5W stereo speaker. The RPJ-2000 is priced at $315.

NEC launches two new short throw projectors   NEC NP510WSNEC has launched two new projectors along their NP Short Throw series. Named the NP510WS and the NP610WS, the two new short throw projectors are built for small rooms and are designed to use less power that their predecessors.

ViewSonic intros compact projector and wireless display bridge   Viewsonic PJD2121

ViewSonic has introduced two new devices for the traveling presenter to pack. The first is the PJD2121, a very compact DLP projector (8 x 4.75 x 2.5 inch, 2 pounds), and the WPG-350 Wireless Presentation Gateway, which acts as a wireless bridge between the projector and the source.
