Here’s another 3D HDTV that we should be seeing on store shelves soon. Unlike so many others, this one should stand out a little bit more though, and not because of it’s 50-inch screen size or support for 3D. Called the Philips Cinema 21:9 Gold, this set has a wider aspect ratio – like the name says – that stretches to 21:9 compared to the usual 16:9 HDTV we’re so used to seeing these days.
Philips has teamed up with sports apparel brand O’Neill, coming up with a line of headphones for active, outdoorsy-types—basically, the exact same people who are familiar with and most likely use O’Neill’s gear. The new line includes four models; two over-ear cans called The Stretch and The Snug, and two in-ear ‘phones, The Covert and The Specked. Awesome stuff, really. Gear that you have to consider if you fit the Philips-O’Neill target market.
Philips just introduced the GoGear Connect, a touchscreen media player that can probably be worthy of rivaling the iPod touch in terms of apps thanks to its Android OS. We’re not saying that Microsoft’s Zune wasn’t “worthy,” but in terms of available apps you can you’d want to run, the GoGear Connect’s link to the Android Market is a very good thing.
