Olympus E PL1 sold early, now available on Amazon   Olympus E PL1 b

Earlier this month, Olympus launched the PEN E-PL1, a 12.3-megapixel Micro Four Thirds compact that should be more affordable than their other Micro Four Thirds cameras. It was expected to ship next month, but for whatever reason, they’re available on Amazon now.

Olympus launches $600 E PL1 Micro Four Thirds cam   08 R

Olympus has just launched the E-PL1, the third camera to fall under the brand’s PEN line of Micro Four Thirds cams. It sports a 12.3MP sensor that’s pretty much the same as the existing E-P1 and E-P2 models, but trumps its two more expensive siblings—at least for casual photographers—by adding a built-in pop-up flash that leaves the hot shoe available for other accessories (like an external flash or optical viewfinder).

Olympus launches E P2 Micro Four Thirds cam   Olympus E P2

Olympus has released the E-P2, the company’s second Micro Four Thirds compact cam that improves on the original (E-P1) 12.3MP cam by adding continuous motion-track autofocusing—for tracking a moving target–along with manual controls during HD video recording.

Olympus’ prosumer E P1 cam now available   Olympus E P1

Olympus’ new high-end cam is a compact that drops the traditional DSLR’s bulk but keeps an SLR’s optics. Tagged as the E-P1, the new cam is a 12MP shooter that features the Micro Four Thirds standard that supports interchangeable lenses originally designed for DSLRs on compact cameras.
