Nokia has (finally) officially unveiled the much-rumored N97 mini, which is basically a more compact, “Lite” version of Nokia’s existing high-end N97 multimedia smartphone.

A post over at The Nokia Blog claims that Nokia’s flagship N86 will be out in the US on August 22nd for $499 (which is $59 lower than the listed pre-order price on Nokia’s online store). Of course, a post on a blog technically makes the announcement unofficial, but the first sentence, which says, “I was spot-on with the Nokia 5800 and the Nokia N97 release dates and now I have the date for the Nokia N86,” makes us lean more towards “it’s likely to be true.”

Nokia calls it a mobile computer, but we’re calling it a touch phone. The Nokia N97, which will come out this June, boasts of a tilting 3.5-inch touch screen with a customizable home screen and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
