Sprint has announced the LG Viper 4G LTE, the carrier’s first 4G LTE smartphone. Despite the distinction, it’s not exactly a phone that can be categorized as a high-end device, but at least it makes for an affordable LTE kit with a $100 price with a contract.
Verizon has officially launched the LG Lucid. Just as well, since multiple leaks have already revealed the phone’s full spec list and release date. What wasn’t revealed before was the price, which is what made the entire package a little more interesting. The LG Lucid will cost $79,99 with a two-year contract, which is exactly what you need… if you were looking for a mid-range Android phone with 4G LTE support and a sub-$100 price tag.
A leaked document just revealed the full hardware details for the LG Lucid 4G, the unannounced phone that was listed by its Cayman codename in a previous Verizon leak. True to the rumors, it certainly looks like a mid-range model that mixes premium bits (like a Gorilla Glass panel over LG’s bright NOVA Display) with average hardware to keep the prices down.
In case you haven’t noticed the trend yet, LG has been announcing new phones for the past few days, giving us a heads up of what to expect before they show them off at MWC. Yesterday, it was the Optimus 3D Cube. Earlier this week, they also announced the Optimus Tag and a bunch of stylish phones under their new Optimus L line. Today? They just announced the Optimus 4X HD, the official successor to last year’s Optimus 2X (aka, “the world’s first dual-core smartphone”).
