
As expected, LG’s much-hyped touch-based BL40 Chocolate is now shipping in Europe by way of O2 or Orange’s networks. It’s available for free for a £30/24-month contract, up to £129.99 for the phone and a 12-month contract. The LG-BL40 is highlighted by a 4-inch wide (21:9) touch-sensitive “twin-view” display for watching widescreen videos. The phone also features a 5MP cam, Wi-fi, GPS, and 3G support.
Full details for LG’s upcoming widescreen Chocolate phone still aren’t available, but a six-minute hands-on preview by mobiles.co.uk has made its way to YouTube. As a quick recap, here’s what we know so far: the LG BL40 features a 4-inch touch-sensitive wide (21:9 aspect ratio) screen that packs in an 800 x 345 resolution. Other highlights include a 5-megapixel cam, Wi-Fi, GPS and 3G connectivity, and a heavy focus on multimedia.
It’s listed to be released in Q3, with some reports mentioning an August 23 launch.
