Kodak just unveiled a new pocket camcorder that changes the Flip’s basic video recording device standard by replacing the usual tiny screen with a full 3-inch touchscreen. It’s not the Playtouch’s highlight though; this compact cam also records videos in 1080p HD, shoots 5MP stills, and packs a set of in-cam tech that makes it more like a full-on compact digicam than your average pocket camcorder.
Another one of Kodak’s more notable CES highlights, the Playsport is a pocket video camcorder that boasts a lens that can shoot videos in full HD and a ruggedized body for active outdoor use. Great for adventurers, thrill-seekers, extreme sport enthusiasts, and Jackass-wannabees.

Kodak headlines their CES lineup with a new compact called the Slice; a 14-megapixel point-and-shoot headlined by its large 3.5-inch, 16:9 touchscreen display and built-in album features. A premium compact that comes with a bit more than the usual point-and-shoot fare, the Slice is listed to give you an “instant connection to all of your memories.” That’s Kodak’s way of describing the cam’s built-in photo album feature by the way; it won’t help you remember where you left your keys.

Kodak has just released a number of products, including new cameras, an HD pocket camcorder, a photo frame, and a new Theatre HD Player, but this has got to be the most interesting (because it’s something everyone could use): a solar charger that can deliver up to 1.5 charges to a cell phone, run a music player for up to 33 hours, or give enough juice to a digicam for up to 200 more shots. Named as the Solar Charger KS100-C+2 (pardon the math), this tiny device can achieve a full stored charge in 14 hours via USB or 28 hours via sunlight. The charger can also be placed on a window sill or under a desk lamp to store energy when not in use. It’s listed to sell for $39.95 in September.
