Kingston intros DataTraveler DTLocker+ flash drive Kingston DTLocker+Kingston has just released the DTLocker+, a flash drive that should be virtually un-crackable for people and organizations that demand the strictest security measures. First off, the DTLocker+ uses hardware encryption that requires a password to open. And if it ever falls into the wrong hands, the drive can also automatically reformat the drive after a few failed password attempts.

Available now, the DTLocker+ comes in 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB capacities for $36, $50, $100, and $200 respectively.

Kingston intros 40GB BootDrive Kingston SSDNow V 40GB BootDrive

Kingston has just announced a new 2.5-inch solid state drive along their SSDNow V Series line called the 40GB BootDrive. It comes with a relatively small 40GB storage capacity, but it’s designed to serve a specific role as a system drive for faster OS functions and boot-up times, and should be affordable enough for users to pick up a larger drive for main storage.

The BootDrive is set to ship November 9th in two packages: a $115 basic package that comes with only the drive, and a $130 kit that comes with a 3.5-inch mounting kit for desktops.

Kingston intros 2nd gen MobileLite card reader Kingston MobileLiteG2

Kingston has released the MobileLiteG2, the second of the brand’s line of mobile card readers. Nothing really unique or special, but the compact design of the USB-based accessory does look appealing for users on-the-go. It supports multiple flash card formats, including SD, SDHC, microSD, microSDHC, Memory Stick PRO Duo, Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo and Memory Stick Micro (M2), and appears as two removable drive letters when plugged in for managing multiple cards at once.

The MobileLiteG2 is packaged with a lanyard and short USB extension cable, and is available as a stand-alone kit or bundled with a 4GB or 8GB Class 4 SDHC card.

Kingston has recently updated the DataTraveler 410 flash drive with enhanced transfer speeds and data protection. It’s not necessary a new model, but the update ups the drive’s read and write speeds to 20MB/sec—a good thing for a high-capacity flash drive that tops out at 32GBs. Password protection has also been added to the DT410 via a pre-installed app called Secure Traveler that creates a secure space called the “Privacy Zone”.

It’s compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux systems, although the security app will only work on Windows. The Kingston DT410 is available in 4GB ($26), 8GB ($46), 16GB ($84), and 32GB ($134) capacities.
