Jon Bon Jovi just came out with an interesting interview with the Sunday Times Magazine, where he accused Steve Jobs of “killing” the music industry with iTunes. Bon Jovi said that “Kids today have missed the whole experience of putting the headphones on, turning it up to 10, holding the jacket, closing their eyes and getting lost in an album; and the beauty of taking your allowance money and making a decision based on the jacket, not knowing what the record sounded like, and looking at a couple of still pictures and imagining it.”
Polaroid has released their Digital Camera App on iTunes. While it won’t get you the nifty instant photo prints you always related with the brand (blame Apple for not installing a photo printer into their devices), it does offer a choice of 30 different filters and borders.
Apple ran a big tease on their website yesterday that just said “Tomorrow is just another day that you’ll never forget.” That had us thinking. Was it going to be a big iOS update? Did they finally manage to find a way to ship the white iPhone 4 in time for the holidays? But those questions didn’t really make for big news, or at least not big enough to make it “unforgettable.” Anyway, the big white curtain was finally pulled open, and they’ve just announced that they’re serving up The Beatles on iTunes now.
After mucking about with so many updates for iTunes 9, Apple has finally unveiled iTunes 10 that offers an interface update and a new social network feature called Ping. Oh, and a new logo that basically ditches the CD on the logo, replacing it with a blue circle since iTunes downloads already outsells CDs in the US.
