JBL just came out with a pair of portable iPod/iPhone speaker docks, the On Stage IV and On Stage Micro III, that features a unique weaved-speaker design. While we can’t be sure if the new design can give better audio quality compared to the usual front-firing sets, they definitely look good.
Here’s probably one of the best info leaks for previewing the next batch of incoming iPods. Photos of new protective cases for the new 4th-gen iPod touch and 6th-gen iPod nano (or shuffle) have come out from Chinese case vendor X-Doria show an iPod touch-sized case with a hole along the back corner for a camera lens, while the smaller case looks like it can fit the tiny, square, Apple-branded touchscreen that was leaked out last month. The rectangular cutout along the back could be a hole for a clip.
Again, it shouldn’t take long now. Apple’s scheduled a music event on September 1.
Logitech just announced a new portable Made for iPod/ iPhone speaker-dock called the Rechargeable Speaker S715i. The name pretty much speaks for itself—it’s basically a speaker dock that comes with its own batteries for blasting music from your iDevice without having to be tied down to a wall socket.
Mobile accessory maker Mophie has just announced thee new universal “juice pack” battery chargers called the reserve, boost, and power station. Basically external battery packs that come with a retractable connector for hooking up to an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad, the quick charge kits feature LED status lights to let you know how much juice is left.
Okay, it won’t actually help you cook, but this iPod dock for the kitchen is certainly set up to keep you company while you do. The iP39’s stainless steel and black plastic body is designed to match the rest of the kitchen décor (provided that the stuff in your kitchen is made up of stainless steel and glossy black surfaces) and it should also be easy to clean in case you make a mess.
