Ever since the release of the Kindle Fire – a.k.a. Amazon’s first actual tablet – there have been a number of complaints that range from a power button that’s too easy to accidentally hit to a screen that’s just not as good as advertised. Well Conan caught on to that and released this clip, where Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos (“as far as you know”) apologizes for the tablet’s shortcomings and offers a couple of solutions in case you bought one and you’re not happy with it. Check out the video after the break; the last bit about the software update’s “brand new, one-touch solution button” looks handy.
You’ve seen Siri rap, play the piano, and sort out even the most impossible schedules for good ol’ Saint Nick. Now, you get to see Siri act, as the digital assistant stars in The Holiday Horror Movie. Okay, it’s actually a spoof trailer for a fake slasher movie, but the clip is something worth watching if you like extra heaps of cheese with your humor and have an extra two minutes on hand. The Holiday Horror Movie trailer starts off with a bunch of kids getting an iPhone 4S for Christmas. Siri then somehow becomes autonomous, and proceeds to murder the proverbial crap out of everyone, Jason-style. Fun! [video after the break].
Apple just got spoofed on Conan again, this time for losing another iPhone prototype. It’s basically another “Apple-styled” ad that shows Apple employees talking about what they’d do to the person who took their iPhone prototype, as well as all the stuff they developed to use on said person (digital Ebola virus, anyone?) …if they ever catch him. Sadly, they missed out on the unintentional comedy of Apple losing another iPhone prototype in a bar (again!), and it’s not as funny as the previous Apple spoof clips they’ve come up with in the past, such as the ones they did for Final Cut Pro X and the iPad 2, but it’s still an entertaining 90-second clip for people who follow the tech beat. Check out the YouTube clip after the break.
Is ‘new’ always better? It depends on who you ask. New car owners would agree. And so would owners who traded in their old iPad for a new iPad 2. But if you ask professionals who work with software like Apple’s Final Cut Pro, and the software’s interface (among other things) was changed so much that they have a hard time dealing with it? Let’s just say they aren’t too happy with the changes on Apple’s latest version, which ironically comes with a tagline that says “Everything just changed in post.” Not the video editors at Conan though. According to the video clip they aired recently, they “actually like it.” Enough to actually make an awesomely edited fail clip with it. Check it out after the break.
Before anything else, remember that this post is about a quick clip that was showed on Conan last week. And the quote above shouldn’t be taken seriously. It’s Conan, people! Anyway, check out the video where they spoof the usual intro video that Apple does when introducing a new product. Basically, the message is: it doesn’t matter what they say. You’ll buy it anyway. Actually they’re partly correct on that one, since the thing can sell itself. If Steve Jobs said “screw it, we don’t need to hold an event for this one,” we’re pretty sure a lot of people would still line up for it. But the part where the one dude mentioned that they added “two holes with cheap cameras in them,” that was priceless. That part actually borders a bit on fact, but we never planned to buy the iPad 2 for the camera anyway. Did you? Video after the break.
