Thanks to earlier leaks, it’s not that big of a surprise now, but in case you were waiting for Sprint to start selling the HTC Evo 3D smartphone and HTC Evo View 4G tablet, you can circle June 24 on your calendar. Sprint has announced that the two Android devices will be available three Fridays from now, while Sprint Premier customers get a 3-day jump on the Evo 3D that can be bought online on June 21.
Yeah, we’re aware that the idea of putting something up for a “secret presale” sounds silly, but apparently, that’s exactly what’s going on at Best Buy right now. According to a leaked internal memo, Best Buy, like everyone else, has no idea exactly when HTC is going to officially launch the 3D-capable HTC Evo 3D besides a summer timeframe. But that doesn’t mean you have to wait for the surprise to drop before you can secure yourself a unit when it does… as long as you know what to say.
Sprint just pulled out their new flagship phone for the year at CTIA, the HTC Evo 3D. It’s currently listed to be the fastest phone HTC has ever put out, powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor, but comes with a number of optimization features (like tuning down one of the cores when performance isn’t needed to keep performance up without draining the battery) to keep it running better than other 1.2GHz chip-powered phones. On the outside, the phone packs a 4.3-inch display with a qHD (540 x 960) resolution, keeping in step with the current crop of high-end ‘droids.
