HP’s new EliteBooks sport new design, awesome 32 hour battery   HP EliteBook 8460p 1HP’s EliteBook line just got upgraded with 2011-type specs. The new line’s two models, the 14-inch 8460p and 15.6-inch 8560p, packs Intel’s newest Core processors, a new magnesium-aluminum chassis to keep it light and sturdy, and a new extra-high capacity battery that’s listed to last up to 32 hours on a charge. That’s a pretty strong claim. Even if they didn’t live up to the full 32 hours (which is what usually happens when the battery’s being used under real world, non-optimized circumstances), getting a battery to run a laptop for a full day would still be awesome.

HP updates flagship EliteBook with Core i7 and USB 3.0   HO EliteBook 8740w 23

HP has just updated their top-end EliteBook, the 8740w, with the latest in porta-PC tech that includes Intel’s Core i5 and i7 processors, and faster (way faster) USB 3.0 ports for those of you who might have a USB 3.0 drive. Also rounding up the spec upgrades: the latest in mobile graphics that includes Nvidia’s Quadro FX 2800M, 3800M, or ATI’s FirePro M7820. Just about right if you’re looking to ditch your desktop workstation for something that’ll let you bring your work home, which may or may not exactly be a good idea.

HP unveils slim, multitouch Elitebook 2740p tablet   HPEliteBook2740p

HP has just turned out a couple of new entries for their EliteBook range of business-geared porta-PCs, highlighted by the EliteBook 2740p Tablet PC, a convertible tablet that comes with a 12.1-inch multitouch display, a 3.8-pound weight, and a high-end spec if you need premium performance to go with the thin-and-light frame.
