AMD has just announced that they’ve released their first WHQL-certified ATI Catalyst graphics drivers for Windows 7. The newest version (Catalyst 9.7) promises better stability and compatibility for AMD platforms running Windows 7 (and Vista), as well as full support for the Win7 desktop interface’s effects. It also promises performance improvements for gamers playing on Win7 compared to Vista in both single card and multi-GPU configurations, and it makes sure that the new OS supports ATI’s video technologies such as ATI Stream.
Anyone (with an ATI Radeon graphics card, of course) looking to update their drivers for Windows 7, you can download it from here.

Euro-based graphics company Club 3D has just released their own build based on ATI’s HD 4890 graphics processor. Of course, the HD 4890 itself has been out for quite some time now, but it’s still one of the most powerful gaming graphics cards on the planet at the moment. Nothing much has been changed over ATI’s reference model except for the cooling chamber’s design, but it does feature an active fansink kit for cooling.

With the advent of bigger, better, and faster graphics cards to handle, well, bigger, better, and more demanding games, cooling has become quite an issue. PC accessory manufacturer Thermaltake has recently come out with an aftermarket VGA cooler to help with heat issues on the newest graphics cards from Nvidia and ATI.
