Galaxy Nexus officially unveiled, set to bring Android 4.0 in November   Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Google and Samsung finally unveiled the heavily-rumored Galaxy Nexus, the flagship phone designed to showcase Google’s Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS. As expected, the phone comes with a high-end spec, with an all-touch interface — Samsung did away with the physical buttons on this one, replacing everything with touch-sensitive buttons below the screen — fronted by a curved, 4.65-inch, 720 x 1280 Super AMOLED screen, and packed inside a slim case that measures only 8.84mm thick.

There’s a working Galaxy Nexus out there, and it’s already being used to snap photos   samsung galaxy nexus googleplus photo

It’s not as big a revelation as, say, a leak that spills out every official detail of an unannounced phone, but hey, knowing that it’s already out there is noteworthy enough if you’ve been waiting for Google’s next flagship phone. Photos that were apparently snapped by a Samsung Galaxy Nexus have been spotted on Google+, posted by two Google engineers, according to the photos’ EXIF data.

Google, Samsung resets Android 4 launch to October 19   Android Ice Cream SandwichGoogle and Samsung has sent out invites, confirming that the cancelled Android 4.0 event (originally set earlier this week at CTIA) will be reset to October 19th in Hong Kong. Simply put: for those of you who prefer Android devices over, well, everything else: big day coming up. We’ll finally get to check out Google’s latest OS, Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) as well as Samsung’s reference phone, the Galaxy Nexus (or ‘Nexus Prime’), in a few days.

Google Ice Cream Sandwich devices could be out by October   google icecream sandwich

It looks like the iPhone 5 might not be the only premium device under the spotlight by the time October rolls around. According to a source privy to Google’s Android plans, the first devices based on Google’s Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS (or “Android 4”) could be out by October, to allow new Android devices to go toe-to-toe with the iPhone 5, which is expected out in September or October. The release period is also set to target “potential customers coming out of contracts” – a group of people that includes original Droid owners whose 2-year deal is set to expire by that time – don’t drool over the iPhone 5.

Google “Nexus 4G” detailed: to rock a 720p display?   Nexus 4g rumorGoogle’s next Nexus just got detailed, and it looks like it’s going to be awesome, if what BGR’s exclusive proves to be true. According to the unmentioned source, the next Nexus, possibly called the Nexus 4G, will run on a next-gen dual-core 1.2GHz or 1.5GHz processor, and feature a “monster-sized” screen with a 720p HD resolution.
