MSI starts shipping GT680R gaming notebook, rocks Sandy Bridge CPU, pretty lights    MSI GT680R 2

MSI has started shipping the GT680R in the US, which, besides being a looker with all the pretty lights and textured surfaces, packs enough of a punch to power through high-end 3D games. This notebook’s packed to the brim with high-end tech, highlighted by Intel’s new quad-core 2GHz Core i7 processor, Nvidia’s 1.5GB GeForce GTX 460M graphics, and a whopping 8GBs of memory.

LG gets into the 3D notebook game with 15.6 inch XNote R590 3D   LG XNote R590 3dLG just introduced their first 3D notebook called the XNote R590 3D, which basically carries the same spec as their existing Corei7-based R590, but awesomized with a newer Nvidia GeForce GT 335M GPU, polarized 3D glasses, and a faster LCD display. To flesh out the high-end notebook gaming experience, the R590 3D also comes with SRS Tru-Surround HD audio, an optional Blu-ray drive, and TriDef software for converting regular 2D video to 3D. LG didn’t release the price, but it’s due out in Korea this month. The international release should follow soon after.

Dell will be updating Alienware m11x with faster Core i7 processors   Alienware M11x 2

It’s been out for a couple of months now, but the m11x, Alienware’s nicely-specced 11-inch gaming ultraportable, is all set for an upgrade by next month. Originally available with a 1.3GHz Pentium (or with a 1.3GHz Core 2 Duo after a $100 upgrade option), the update will replace the older processors with Intel’s newer Core platform, with options for Ultra low voltage Core i3, i5 and i7 processors that are faster and more energy efficient compared to the existing systems. No word on just how much the update affects the price, but it could be a steal if they can still manage to keep it close to the original $799 base price.

While a laptop running on Intel’s Core i5 isn’t necessarily something that’ll make a gamer drool, maybe this will: MSI’s new 5.4-incher also sports ATI’s Radeon HD5850 graphics card with 1GB of GDDR5 memory.

MSI launches i5 powered GE600 gaming/entertainment notebook    MSI GE600 1MSI has just officially launched the GE600, the 16-inch performance-geared gaming notebook that was first unveiled during last month’s CES show. Not to be confused with the GX600 (another G-series “extreme” gaming notebook they launched way back in 2008), the GE600 still packs the hardware that’s good enough for gaming on the go along with an extensive set of features for HD entertainment (which is probably what the “E” stands for).
