A new Android-powered tablet just landed in the market (well, the Euro market, at least), packing a larger 10-inch screen that’s significantly bigger than the current crop of 7-inch Android tablets. The Toshiba Folio 100 runs on Nvidia’s dual core Tegra 2 processor that gives it the power to play back 1080p HD videos, and 16GBs of built-in memory to store it all in.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab won’t be the only new slate gunning for the iPad now. Toshiba just officially introduced the Folio 100, an Android-based tablet that goes large with a 10.1-inch, 1024 x 600-resolution touchscreen.
It’s not clear how they got the info, but Notebook Italia just put out a full spec list, photos, and an official name (apparently, it’s going to be called the Folio 100) for Toshiba’s upcoming tablet before the official introduction. Looks pretty good too. The Android 2.2 OS and 10.1-inch widescreen (1024 x 600) multitouch display was a bit predictable, but the Nvidia Tegra 2 processor looks like a good bonus if you’re into watching downscaled HD content on a tablet.
