Good news for the large number of people who held onto their Nokia E71 handsets after Nokia unveiled the E72: The company’s Ovi Maps 3.0 walk and drive navigation app that was made totally free of charge a few months ago, has now been extended to support the older E71 and E66 phones.
The E72 has followed the E71 into business-phone fame thanks to a solid build, nice spec, and a slim and sleek form factor. Unfortunately, the colors have always been all about business with the existing black, silver and brown color sets, but it has always been understood that the Eseries were built for the business “E-xecutive” anyway. This new option changes that line of thinking… a bit: the serious-looking E72 now gets a rather chic sister, thanks to a new purple color option (listed as “Amethyst”) that should appeal to the ladies. Okay, that sounds a bit sexist. For the record, they’ll sell it to guys too—at least guys who for some reason might want a purple phone. Everything else is still the same, though… still the same old, seriously awesome E72.
