Asus has put out full renders of the Eee PC 1200 series netbooks that they’ll be pimping out at CES next week. Judging by the photos, the new netbook will feature very slim bodies totally wrapped in a solid color – a nice touch, by the looks of it – and a MacBook Air-styled hinge where the lid’s back end slides over the base.
Asus has officially announced the Eee PC 1225B, a new notebook that rocks a feature set that places it somewhere between an ultraportable and a netbook. The 1225B is fronted by an 11.6-inch display, making it the 12.1-inch 1215B’s smaller brother with the same 1366 x 768 resolution, but with a newer engine with AMD’s Fusion APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) that combines the dual core processor and Radeon discrete graphics for multimedia performance.
The Asus Eee PC X101, the slim 10.1-inch netbook that Asus first unveiled at Computex, finally looks close to shipping. Now, it didn’t arrive remotely close to the rumored July release, but at least it’s going to arrive with all the announced specs and details intact, which may or may not be what you’re looking for. If you’re looking for a powerful ultraportable, you might want to look somewhere else, because the X101 basically packs a netbook’s spec. But if you’re looking for a particularly sexy netbook priced at around $200, here’s one of your best bargain options.
If you’re still looking into netbooks, then the ultra-slim Eee PC X101 that Asus unveiled at Computex in late May should have caught your attention. Not just because the netbook had a sexy 0.69-inch frame, but also because Asus mentioned that it could sell as low as $199. Now, if you’re still holding out for a netbook, you won’t have to wait long to pick this one up. If a recent report proves true, the X101 could be out by July.
Asus unveiled two more ultraslim notebooks at Computex 2011, giving you two more Windows-powered alternatives to Apple’s iconic MacBook Air. Like Apple’s ultraslim, the UX21 is also designed with an all-aluminum body and a glass trackpad, but this one’s listed to be thinner at 0.67 inches. Inside that slim, brushed aluminum frame is an Intel Core platform for running Windows 7, with options that run up to a Core i7 CPU for performance.
