Nikon’s yet-to-be-announced successor to the D700 DSLR cam has been revealed in a leak during the weekend. According to the reported details, the D800 will be feature the highest ever resolution for a Nikon DSLR with 36 megapixels (capable of snapping 7360 x 4912 stills), all packed in a body that’s smaller and lighter than its predecessor.
There’s been a lot of buzz about Sony’s upcoming Alpha A77 DSLR, mostly because the unreleased cam has already been nominated for an award for innovative technologies at the Good Design Expo. The cam’s official photos just leaked out from all over giving us a good look at what Sony has up its sleeve. The details are all still unconfirmed, but Sony previewed a teaser of the camera’s design earlier this year, showing a cam that’s going to feature a translucent mirror and a 24-megapixel EXMOR CMOS sensor, which lets it autofocus on a subject very quickly.
The Pentax K-x in Japan has been available in multiple colors for some time now, but they’re recently added all the options for the US market. Not that the available colors would be considered plain in the first place; they’ve previously added purple, blue, green and orange to the original black and red version in April. This most recent update adds four more exotic colors to the mix, with chocolate, beige, olive, and pink.
Well this is embarrassing. Not for us, but probably for Sony. It was recently discovered that the deftly blurred PR shots Sony used for their new 3D-capable Cyber-shot compacts–the new cams that boasted of DSLR-like depth effects that we posted just yesterday—were evidently shot using a Canon DSLR.
