Leaked photo shows a compact Motorola Droid slider motoblur

It’s blurry, and there’s practically little-to-no info attached to it (not even a name), but this photo could be showing a mid-range Droid smartphone sitting up Motorola’s pipeline. Anyway, the blurry photo (along with a similarly blurry video here), shows a qwerty-packing slider that’s relatively smaller than the 4-inch Droids that have recently been released.

How can we be so sure it’s even going to fall under Moto’s Droid line? We really can’t, but unless it’s just a Droid wallpaper installed onto a Motorola prototype slider, that blurry glowing red eye is kind of an obvious giveaway.

It looks like the Droid X launch was a success Droid X Verizon screenshot1Apparently, the Moto Droid X launch was a success. Or at least it looks that way. Depends on how you look at it though. There’s a new note on Verizon’s Droid X page that says “Due to high demand, this device will ship by June 23,” which obviously means they ran out of stock on the first day. This could be the effect of all the bad press surrounding the iPhone 4. Or it might just mean that they came up with a really low supply of Droid X units for launch day. We’ll know for sure when the official figures get announced, but if you’re looking to score a Droid X, it’s one more week of waiting for you.

Droid X launches tomorrow, comes out with movie like teaser Droid X teaser screenshot

If you’re a smartphone fan who didn’t get on the iPhone 4 train, you’re probably already aware that the Droid X is due out tomorrow. The Droid knows this. And he wants to see you tomorrow, all lined up at a Verizon outlet with $200 in your pocket. To get you ready, they released a “see you tomorrow” teaser that–at least to our opinion–has nothing to do with the Droid X. The trailer looks pretty awesome though, so it’s still worth a look. (Video after the break.)

There’s really not much to see here, except for an flickering eyeball that turns into something robotic, but it does confirm a lot of stuff regarding the Droid X’s rumored spec. This short eye-filled clip is part of a longer, more informative TV ad that fleshes out what to expect from the new super-phone: namely, a 1GHz processor, a 4.3-inch touchscreen, an 8MP cam with 720p HD video recording, and an Android 2.1 OS–all of which has reportedly been confirmed by Verizon. Droid fans shouldn’t have to wait too long though: the Droid X, possibly along with the Droid 2, is expected to be officially unveiled within the week, and shipped by next month along with an Android 2.2 update.
