Genius has come out with a new wireless mouse that doesn’t use batteries, but features a quick recharge time and all-day use. Called the DX-ECO BlueEye Mouse, it runs on the unique battery-free tech to make for an eco-friendly device. Instead of using traditional rechargeable batteries, the mouse packs a gold capacitor that’s listed to charge in three minutes and hold enough power to last a whole day, and is rated for 100,000 recharge cycles.
Logitech has introduced the Cube, a device that basically ties the functions of both a wireless mouse and a wireless presenter into one compact wireless kit that fits into a shirt pocket. It’s not necessarily the first mouse/presenter combo that we’ve seen, but it’s certainly the most interesting we’ve seen yet – the design certainly helps (despite the name, it’s technically not a “cube,” by the way), but a number of unique features help it stand out.
If you’re a fan of revolutionary design, then you’re going to like this: startup Product Design has listed this glass keyboard and glass trackpad on Kickstarter for funding. Made using tempered glass, the multitouch peripherals rely on touchscreen tech called FTIR (Frustrated Total Internal Reflection) which basically uses infrared lights and a camera for detecting user input.
Mimo has put out two new USB-powered monitors with a modern twist. Called the Mimo Magic Touch, the two models are still basically 10.1-inch secondary mini-screens that extend your Windows 7 desktops, but adds capacitive touch tech that’ll let you tap intuitively on the screen (tablet-like) in place of using a regular mouse.
We have no idea how HP’s first Wi-fi mouse did when they introduced it earlier this year, but apparently, they’re sticking with the concept. HP has just unveiled a successor, the X7000 Wi-Fi Touch Mouse that improves on the original’s basic design. Like the original (and like the name says), the X7000 Wi-Fi Touch Mouse doesn’t need a free USB port or a Bluetooth connection to hook up with a PC. Instead, it connects via Wi-fi, which lets it work up to 30 feet away from a computer.
