Apple finishes off its update day with a couple of new accessories: the 27-inch LED Cinema Display and a new input peripheral called the Magic Trackpad. Despite the mystical name, it’s simply an oversized touchpad that connects via Bluetooth. It acts and feels the same as a MacBook’s pad, but it’s 80% larger, giving your Mac desktop multitouch support. As an accessory for a MacBook, well, you get a larger area to do all your swiping with.
Yeah, you read that right. This’ll let you move the cursor around using your hand and controlled by movements that you’d normally perform as if you were holding a mouse. On a desk beside your computer, where you’d normally place your mouse. Thing is, you won’t actually be holding anything. It’s legit too—seriously, it’s not just an interesting party trick that simulates crazy
The title explains it all: this power strip by Wet Circuits is basically waterproof and thankfully idiot-proof. We don’t know why we found the demos intriguing enough to explain why we suddenly want a waterproof power strip (since we don’t really remember the last time we poured water or thought about sticking a pair of tweezers into a live power strip), but hey, you might have a use for this. Water-resistant (the other videos show it working under water), protected from touch and tweezer-related idiocy, overheating, sparks, and supposedly lasts four times longer than the average power stip, this four-socket strip sells for $35.
More demo videos after the break if you can’t think of anything better to do with your YouTube-watching minutes. Or, if you’re also entertained by cheesy sales pitches (“isn’t this amazing?”), weirdly upbeat voice-dubbing (“hopefully, these are not my last words…”), and cute sales reps (“Jolin”).
Disney Consumer Products and gaming peripherals maker Razor teamed up to come out with new gaming gear inspired by Disney’s upcoming TRON: Legacy movie. Never mind if you weren’t a child of the 80’s and you don’t have an idea what the original Tron movie or Tron arcade game was all about: this desktop set looks sweet.
The title pretty much says everything right there, but in case the brand “Razer” didn’t ring a bell, they’re into making specialized PC peripherals that cater to gamers. The Abyssus Mirror Special Edition mouse is basically same as Razer’s existing Abyssus mouse, but it doesn’t look as boring.
