Casio unveils G SHOCK watches with Bluetooth LE 4.0 support Casio G SHOCK GB 6900

Casio Japan will be releasing their new G-SHOCK GB-6900 watch in March, a wristwatch that’s built with the typical G-SHOCK ruggedness but updated to support Bluetooth 4.0 LE (low-energy) tech – basically a Bluetooth connection that consumes less power than your garden-variety Bluetooth (despite the live connection, Casio says the watch’s battery is still good to last two years). Like a number of Bluetooth-enabled wristwatches that we’ve seen before, the GB-6900 will be able to display info for incoming calls, as well as alerts for e-mail and text messages. The Bluetooth tech will also let it sync the time with paired smartphones.

Casio’s twisting Tryx camera is now out for $250 Casio Tryx 1The unique Tryx cam that Casio unveiled at CES is now shipping from Best Buy, Amazon and other stores for $250. 250 bucks will basically get you a compact cam with a 12.1-megapixel sensor, so don’t expect extraordinary performance over any other 12.1MP compact. The Tryx’s form factor is what obviously sets this cam apart though. The unique form factor simply helps with positioning, with a body that’ll let you twist, turn, hang, hold or stand it to get shots from different angles. Not much different from picking up any other cam and hooking it up with a Gorillapod, but at least the design will let you pack light.

Leaked images of Casio’s TRYX cam reveal a new twist casio tryx CES ad

Casio hasn’t officially announced it yet (they’re expected to show it off at CES though), but the few leaks and ads already reveal what it’s all about. Casio’s upcoming cam, evidently called the TRYX, has been revealed in an ad outside CES. While the specs are still being kept under wraps, the photos pretty much show what this thing’s all about: a frame and display that twists and flips on hinges. It looks like the frame can act as some sort of grip or stand, while the flappable screen will let you capture different angles, acting like some sort of trippy 2011 version of the swing-out display for compact point and shoot cams. Casio’s military tough G’zOne Brigade phone now available on Verizon Casio Gzone Brigade 4

It may not be the prettiest phone around, but you have to admit that it looks pretty tough. And “tough” pretty much explains what Casio’s G’zOne Brigade is all about. Built according to the US Military’s specs for water and shock-resistance (MIL-STD-910F), the Brigade flips open to reveal a 2.9-inch screen and full QWERTY keyboard that’ll let you do your usual mobile phone thing whether you’re standing in the rain or running with the bulls.
