The Acer Aspire One D255, one of the first netbooks to rock Intel’s new 1.5GHz Atom N550 dual core processor, has been officially launched in the US. What’s new besides the dual core chip? Not much; it’s still technically a netbook, but the dual core processor does help speed it along, providing for a significant performance boost over older single core models.
A netbook that can boot either Windows or Android? Not a bad idea. Acer unveiled a new 10-inch netbook called the Aspire One AOD255 that comes loaded with both Windows and Android operating system, offering quick access to basic functions like e-mail and web browsing under Android, while still offering the full PC functionality from Windows XP. The dual-boot system features Acer’s Configuration Manager for Android that’ll let you choose which operating is loaded when you start it up.
