HTC Desire Z, Desire HD now available for preorders in Europe   HTC Desire Z and HDShort update on HTC’s recently-announced Desire Z and Desire HD that was just unveiled yesterday: they’re now available for preorders in Europe in case you wanted to be one of the first to get your hands on the Android 2.2 devices after they ship next month (provided that you’re in Europe, of course). UK-based e-tailers Play and Expansys are scheduled to ship both devices by October 11, while Amazon UK and Amazon Germany plans to ship them a week later on October 18. Prices for the two devices between the different e-tailers vary, with the Desire Z ranging from between 515 to 600 euros (US$676 – 788), while the Desire HD is priced between 560 to 600 euros (US$735 – 788).

HTC rolls out Android Froyo based Desire HD and Desire Z   HTC Desire Z

HTC has announced two new smarties that run on Android 2.2: the Desire HD and Desire Z. Of course, they’re really not that new—since the Desire Z has already launched in the US as the T-Mobile G2, while the Desire HD is similar to the Evo 4G but without the “4G” part—but for the rest of the world (at least for Europe and Asia), yay for you. Moto won’t support your Droid X’s leaked 2.2 update    Droid X FroyoMoto just put out the word that if you use the leaked Android 2.2 upgrade on your Droid X, you could get stuck with the unofficial release, and you’re on your own. Meaning, there won’t be an upgrade path, so you won’t be able to get the official 2.2 patches. Not necessarily something new, although HTC did go unconventional earlier this month when they put out a special Android 2.2 update patch for those who used a leaked Android 2.2 on their EVO 4Gs.
