And like the good stuff you get from nature like sugar, salt, alcohol and tobacco, eating up the 3D content from Nintendo’s latest handheld console apparently won’t be good for you. A lot of players have complained about getting headaches after spending some gaming time with the 3DS lately, so Nintendo had some explaining to do.
Nintendo’s upcoming 3DS handheld has been spotted recently, this time in a series of live photos. It doesn’t look that much different from the earlier leaks, but a shot of an open rear panel and screen does reveal a number of important details. Well, important to those people who just have to know what’s under the hood, at least. For you guys who wanted to know, here’s what’s in store: the photos show that the 3DS will pack 96MBs of RAM, while the shot of the open rear panel shows an SD card slot and a 1,300mAh battery.
Okay, if that warning message caught your attention, let’s clear things up: Nintendo just issued a safety warning on their website that says the 3D mode on their upcoming 3DS handheld could mess up young kids’ eyesight. According to the message, the vision of children under the age of six has been said to be in the developmental stage. Since the stereoscopic 3D tech used by the device uses different left and right eye images, it could mess up eyesight development.
Okay, to be clear, Nintendo didn’t announce a ship date for the dual-screened 3DS handheld. They did mention when they’re going to be announcing the golden date though. According to this Bloomberg Japan report, they’ll be announcing a release date on September 29. Nothing new after that, but we could still at least expect the 3DS to arrive by the holidays.
