Toshiba has unveiled the Qosmio F750 3D, a 15.6-inch notebook that’s being as the world’s first glasses-free 3D notebook. New notebooks with 3D-capable screens are relatively common these days (as is just about anything that touts “3D”), but this one could be pretty special, since you won’t need to rock a goofy pair of special 3D glasses to enjoy the effect. The notebook delivers the effect via a special integrated webcam that tracks your head position and eye movement, and adjusts the image on the screen to give you the effect.
Sony just announced an update to their VAIO L Series with a new all-in-one desktop that’s all set to ride the 3D video wave. This one is highlighted by a 24-inch 3D-capable HD screen with touch support, plus enough muscle to keep all the 3D/HD content running smoothly. The system includes processor options that top out to an Intel Core i7 CPU and up to 8GB RAM, while a TV tuner with DVR functions and an integrated Blu-ray player takes care of your entertainment needs.
Nvidia and YouTube has teamed up to put out a number of free 3D videos that you can view for free. While anyone can check out the 3D clips posted on YouTube, it’s not exactly for everyone, because you’re going to need to view them using Nvidia’s own 3D Vision kit to get the full effect. The effect being what Nvidia calls the best 3D videos available on YouTube.
A 3D porn channel? Sure, why not. It seems everything’s moving towards 3D anyway, so 3D porn sounds just about right. Anyway, here’s the story: Penthouse has just put out word that they’re planning on putting out a channel that won’t just show you porn in HD, they’re putting out porn in 3D HD from a dedicated channel that’s separate from their regular Penthouse HD channel. You know, in case porn in high-definition isn’t doing it for you anymore. According to the announcement, they’ve already started shooting in 3D last year, so you know they already have the content. Probably good news if you already own a 3D-capable HDTV, since this gives you another reason to fire up the 3D mode on that bad boy (if you don’t own a Panasonic set, you can’t have Avatar in 3D ‘til next year anyway). Probably the only issue here is, would you be comfortable watching 3D porn with a pair of 3D glasses? Press release after the break.
After springing for a 3D HDTV and a 3D-capable Blu-ray player, here’s something you can use to create content to play on your 3D-happy entertainment center. JVC just announced a pair of new 3D HD video camcorders, headlined by the GS-TD1 that the company claims to be the world’s first consumer-class full HD 3D camcorder. This one features two lenses and two 3.32-megapixel CMOS sensors that it uses to capture 1080i 3D content or regular 2D video.
