After announcing that they’ll be showing off a 55-inch OLED TV at CES in Las Vegas next week, LG has described another huge screen in store for the trade show: an 84-inch 3D LCD TV. It’s not just huge and it won’t just give you 3D goodness (via passive Cinema 3D glasses) – this thing is crisp, thanks to a 3840 x 2160 resolution that packs in four times the pixels of your usual 1080p HDTV.
Here’s another 3D HDTV that we should be seeing on store shelves soon. Unlike so many others, this one should stand out a little bit more though, and not because of it’s 50-inch screen size or support for 3D. Called the Philips Cinema 21:9 Gold, this set has a wider aspect ratio – like the name says – that stretches to 21:9 compared to the usual 16:9 HDTV we’re so used to seeing these days.
If you love your 3D video-watching lifestyle, you’ve got to appreciate the way 2011 is starting to look like. LG just gave a preview of what they plan to unveil at CES next month, and it’s going to be huge. Quite literally. So huge that it’s down for breaking at least one record for being the largest 3D-capable HDTV, going a full foot over the existing 60-inch size ceiling.
Anyone looking for a big 3D LCD TV to go with a spacious den or a similarly huge pair of 3D glasses? LG has introduced the Infinia 72LEX9 in South Korea, a new model that they’re claiming to be the world’s largest consumer 3D LCD TV. The 72 inches’ worth of flatscreen real estate features LG’s LED-backlit 480Hz TruMotion panel, Spot Control pixel dimming tech, and connectivity that lets it connect to the internet and to other DLNA appliances within the home network.
Almost every major home entertainment brand has come out with a 3D-playing HDTV model, each offering their own version of specialized 3D glasses to for viewing. That could cause problems when you rock a Samsung HDTV at home and have to go over your buddy’s house to watch a Shrek 3D marathon on his *gasp* Sony HDTV. Monster Cable offers a solution: pick up their Vision Max 3D glasses.
