Microsoft recently put up a new PC vs Mac page on their Windows 7 section that compares the two platforms, or at least to try to convince you that one system is better than the other. The end results are naturally Windows-biased, of course. It’s set up to convince people on the fence to pick up a Windows-powered PC over a Mac after all. Before we get to the comparisons, let’s just throw this in: we really don’t think there are that many people still “on the fence” anymore. It’s either you’re more comfortable with a PC or a Mac, and there are those who own—and are comfortable with working—both. (more…)
Whether you’re looking to get some exercise done, save on gas money or you’re just a fan of skin-tight bike shorts, here’s something you might want to check out: Google Maps has just added a new feature called Biking Directions to give cyclists route suggestions across bike trails and bike-friendly roads. Navigation isn’t just a turn-left, turn-right thing though, since the new feature also factors in traffic and elevation so you don’t go weaving in with the cars or faint trying to go up a steep hill.

Skype and Nokia has just officially announced that the Skype app for Nokia smartphones can now be downloaded (for FREE) from the Ovi Store. What does that mean? But if you own a Nokia smartphone (full list of supported Nokia devices after the cut), that means that you can now download something for your smartphone that’s way more useful than a mobile Facebook app.

Mozilla has just announced that they’ve released a mobile version of their Firefox web browser. The good news is that we can get a mobile phone-based browser that we’re all (or at least those of us who use Firefox) familiar with. The bad news is that the first version of Firefox Mobile will be for Maemo-based mobiles only, so unless you own a Nokia N810 or N900 (Nokia’s “mobile computer”), you’re going to have to wait for another version.
