Firefox 4 is out now, hits 7.1 million downloads on day one   Firefox 4 logoJust in case you missed the part where your Firefox browser (if you’re a Firefox user) told you about some kind of update, here’s another reminder: Firefox 4 is out now, and has already logged more than 7 million downloads worldwide within the first 24 hours. So what’s new? A lot, apparently. First off, you’re going to notice a redesigned interface that offers more space for the webpage itself, a number of new features for easier access and navigation as well as a lot of performance enhancements to make it zippy. Apple outs iOS 4.3 earlier than expected (untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3 also out)   iOS 4 3 now available

We all thought iOS 4.3 would be released on March 11 (also known as “iPad 2 Launch Day”), but here’s a pleasant surprise: it’s out now, for anyone interested in updating their iPhone 4/3GS, iPad and iPod touch (3rd and 4th-gen) to what the iPad 2 will be running on when it gets released. Also – and this might be something you’d be interested in –a jailbreak tool has already been released for iOS 4.3, which will allow you to open up the just-released firmware. Rumor: Apple to launch iOS 5, MobileMe in early April?   iOS 5 rumorWe all expected Apple to roll out MobileMe as well as put out word about iOS 5 during the iPad 2 event last week, but since it didn’t happen, we’re still expecting the two software updates soon. Apparently, we won’t have to wait long. If this rumor is true, then Apple might be planning an iOS event sometime next month, where they could show off iOS 5 and a fresh new MobileMe. According to the source, Apple will hold the event within the 14th or 15th week of 2011 on the Apple campus, which means it’s some time next month. It’s a bit difficult to tell how accurate the source is, but Apple did a similar thing last year, when the iPad shipped before the announcing the iOS 4 update in April.

Just released iOS 4.3 GM, jailbroken in a heartbeat   ios43 jailbreakWell, that was quick. Apple just released the final GM (GoldMaster, for registered developers only) version of iOS 4.3 for the iPhone 4, 4GS, iPad, and iPod touch 4G/3G earlier today, and it’s already been jailbroken. Someone didn’t just crack it though. The whole jailbreaking procedure is already available, complete with tools and the step-by-step.

iTunes 10 gets more social, adds Ping social network feature   iTunes 10

After mucking about with so many updates for iTunes 9, Apple has finally unveiled iTunes 10 that offers an interface update and a new social network feature called Ping. Oh, and a new logo that basically ditches the CD on the logo, replacing it with a blue circle since iTunes downloads already outsells CDs in the US.
