While it looks like a standard speaker stand, albeit a very well-designed one by Steffen Schmelling, the Beoplay A3 by B&O Play (Bang & Olufsen’s line of designer portables) offers a lot more under that slim triangular shell. To be a bit more specific, it packs in four quality speakers under the grille that covers the front bezel, turning your iPad into a premium media player (or a really expensive alarm clock) for your bedside table.
Looking for a portable speaker system that’s specifically designed to look good and sound awesome, then here’s your luggable Hi-Fi. Jawbone has announced the Big Jambox speaker, a compact boombox that packs in a lot of boom inside a 10” long box that weighs less than 2.7 pounds. Basically a supersized version of the $199 Jambox, the “Big” also features wireless audio streaming via Bluetooth, and a built-in microphone for use as a hands-free speakerphone for Skype, Google Talk and Facetime conversations.
What is it? The Griffin SmartTalk Solar is a speakerphone kit for your car that offers hands-free calling and Bluetooth connectivity for hassle-free hookups with your smartphone. In other words… it’s a hands-free kit. This particular device offers a little bit extra though; it features a window mount that’ll let you stick it onto your windshield, and a solar panel at the back that it uses to charge itself.
If you’re an audiophile, then you’re already aware of Monster’s Beats by Dr. Dre line of audio products that range from in-ears with ribbon cables that are apparently sturdy enough to survive a nuclear apocalypse to the high-end Studio that offers powered amplification and noise cancellation. Unfortunately, being a popular product has its downsides for someone looking for a little exclusivity. If that someone happens to be you, here’s a special edition version of the Studio by ColorWare that should make your headset look as good as it sounds.
