Angry Birds to fling out of orbit with Space installment   AngryBirdsSpace banner

Since it was launched during the tail-end of 2009, Rovio Mobile’s most popular game, Angry Birds, has definitely become a successful title in the puzzle gaming arena. From being a physics-based mobile game that grew to massive fame, it spawned various iterations, crossed over to the browser and on to Facebook, and into the real world with its line of merchandise.

Gamevil unleashes Zenonia 4: Return of the Legend   Zenonia2 banner

Mobile game developer and publisher Gamevil recently unleashed the latest installment of its flagship RPG title, Zenonia 4, to the Android Market. And aside from the new storyline, maps, and a subtle interface redesign, it’s also the first time the franchise features HD graphics.

Apple intros iBooks 2, iBooks Author at their education event   iBooks textbooksWell, it’s not a student-friendly iPad that people were hoping for (even it did sound like an unlikely idea), but Apple did come out with a number of new applications during their education-themed event. Apple has just unveiled iBooks 2, an update of their reader app for iOS that adds emphasis to textbooks, with a new section on the iBookstore dedicated to them. The new textbooks can be enhanced with multimedia elements for intuitive learning, allowing for ebooks with embedded animations, photos, video clips and 3D elements that can be moved around with multi-touch support.

Tizi Remote app turns your iPhone into a Siri powered channel changer   Tizi Remote app

Equinux has put out a new TV remote app that uses Siri outside of her usual Apple-approved services. Called the Tizi Remote, the app will let you use an iPhone 4S to control TV channels on your iPad – as long as the iPad is hooked up to a separate Tizi or Tizi Go DVB-T receiver. Past that, Siri plays a simple role acting as a voice-enabled channel flipper – in case you miss the good old days, when TVs didn’t come with remotes and fathers the world over had to ask their kids (also via voice command) to get up and flip the channels for them.

Untethered  iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak confirmed working, should be available shortly   ios 5 logoIf you’re still stuck on iOS 4.3.x because you loved your iPhone’s jailbroken state more than you love iOS 5, then here’s something we’re sure you’ve been waiting for. Hacker Pod2g has just announced that he’s found a way to get an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1, and has tested it to work on A4-based devices, tweeting that he’s “got an untethered iPhone 4 running iOS 5.0.1. Feel free to update.”
