Talk of Google coming out with a low-cost, 7-inch, Asus-built tablet isn’t new, but new reports point to something that’s even cheaper than what we originally thought. Earlier rumors seem to point to the Eee Pad MeMo 370T – a 7-incher that rocked a quad-core Tegra 3, Android 4 and a $249 price tag when Asus showed it off back in January – as the basis for the Nexus-branded slate, but a new report says that they’re aiming for a cheaper package that could go as low as $149.

Asus and Google is collaborating on a 7-inch tablet that targets the Kindle Fire with a price tag of $199-249. Details are a bit limited at this point, but the tablet will be out by May, and will be the first to run the Google Play store. According to this report by DigiTimes, Google chose to work with Asus on this one because of their good product quality and ODM capabilities.
Late last month, a leaked Verizon screen showed that they had two “mystery” phones in the works called the Droid Fighter and LG Cayman. Details weren’t shown back then (the screen was labeled as a “device workshop” schedule), so launch dates wasn’t clear. We still don’t know much about these to devices, but a new leak cleared up something: apparently, the “device workshop” dates are actually release dates, as this screen shows.
It looks like Verizon has a couple of devices set for a release in a couple of months. A screenshot of an internal memo has been leaked to Droid-Life, with a number of devices listed under a “Device Workshops” heading. Among the list are some devices that we already heard of, including the Motorola Xyboard tablet and LG Spectrum. A couple of new names at the end interested us the most though: the LG Cayman and Droid Fighter.
A source has handed a portion of AT&T’s 2012 roadmap to BGR, mentioning a release date and a very interesting price point for the Lumia 900 that Nokia introduced earlier this month. According to the leaked info, AT&T will start shipping Nokia’s upcoming Windows-based flagship smartphone in the US in March (it’s rumored to be on the 18th) for the mouth-watering price of $99.99.
