Forget the movies: Samsung announces “world’s largest” 3D TV    Samsung D9500

If you’re one of those people who keep complaining about the price of movie tickets these days or you’re just easily annoyed by the distractions from other people in the theater, then here’s a solution: pick up the world’s largest 3D TV and bring that theater experience home (but without the annoying public). Samsung is ready to let you do that pretty soon: Samsung just announced the 75-inch D9500, also known as ‘the world’s largest consumer 3D TV.’

Philips intros 50 inch, ultra wide Cinema 21:9 Gold with passive 3D tech   Philips Cinema 21 9 Gold 1

Here’s another 3D HDTV that we should be seeing on store shelves soon. Unlike so many others, this one should stand out a little bit more though, and not because of it’s 50-inch screen size or support for 3D. Called the Philips Cinema 21:9 Gold, this set has a wider aspect ratio – like the name says – that stretches to 21:9 compared to the usual 16:9 HDTV we’re so used to seeing these days.

LG previews 72 inch 3D HDTV for CES   LG LZ9700 b

If you love your 3D video-watching lifestyle, you’ve got to appreciate the way 2011 is starting to look like. LG just gave a preview of what they plan to unveil at CES next month, and it’s going to be huge. Quite literally. So huge that it’s down for breaking at least one record for being the largest 3D-capable HDTV, going a full foot over the existing 60-inch size ceiling.

Avatar 3D Blu ray disc is out, but only if you buy Panasonic   panasonic avatarIf you’re a 3D movie collector, then Avatar has got to be high on your wish list. Actually, it’s on everyone’s 3D movie wish list, since it’s pretty good. Problem is, Panasonic scored the exclusive rights to distribute the movie until February of 2012, which makes it a bit difficult to get a copy of the 3D version. Simply put, it’s out there but you’re going to have to buy a Panasonic Viera 3D TV to get it off a bundle if you want a copy right now, or you can wait for the regular release when Panny’s deal expires in early 2012.

LG unveils huge 72 inch 3D LCD TV   LG Infinia 72LEX9 1

Anyone looking for a big 3D LCD TV to go with a spacious den or a similarly huge pair of 3D glasses? LG has introduced the Infinia 72LEX9 in South Korea, a new model that they’re claiming to be the world’s largest consumer 3D LCD TV. The 72 inches’ worth of flatscreen real estate features LG’s LED-backlit 480Hz TruMotion panel, Spot Control pixel dimming tech, and connectivity that lets it connect to the internet and to other DLNA appliances within the home network.
