AOC just unveiled a new line of display that boasts of really slim, half-inch thick LCD displays. Tagged as the Razor LED, the new line of slim displays comes in four sizes that range from 18.5 to 23 inches, feature a wide 16:9 aspect ratio, and LED backlighting. The line also touts a high dynamic contrast ratio of 50,000,000:1 and a 5ms response time, which doesn’t necessarily make them high-end performers for people who need high-end displays, but they certainly make up for it in style.
Apple’s Retina Display has been described and reviewed as being all kinds of awesome. It’s a technical wonder, fitting all those pixels (326ppi) into a smartphone’s screen, but it might not be considered “the best” for long. Ortustech, a joint-venture between Casio and Toppan printing, has just unveiled the world’s smallest full HD display, fitting a 1920 x 1080 resolution into a 4.8-inch screen.
3D gaming in a box! Viewsonic has just launched the V3D241wm-LED monitor, a 24-inch monitor that’s designed to handle the fast refresh rates you’ll need to run 3D games and videos. A fast refresh rate isn’t that unique these days, but here’s what makes this display special: it comes packaged with a pair of active 3D glasses, making it ready for 3D games and videos as soon as you plug it in. (Provided you have a graphics card and Blu-ray drive that can handle the 3D content, of course.)
There hasn’t been much change in the plain world of digital photo frames lately, but this might shake up the market a bit. This 9-incher by Panasonic, called the MW-90, comes with the typical features you’d expect from a digital frame (photo, audio and video playback support and SD memory card slot) but comes with a potentially useful addition in the form of an iPhone dock for media playback and charging.

Here’s a hybrid device that comes with a useful mix of functions: Aiptek’s PocketCinema Z20 combines a pico projector with a 5MP digital camera that can record 720p HD videos. That’s a handy thing to have on a vacation or a company trip that mixes business with a bit of downtime; a pocket-sized device that’ll shoot videos from the hip and then show them on the wall for everyone to watch right after.
