The X4 620 is a 2.6GHz processor, while the X4 630 features a faster 2.8GHz clock. Both CPUs come with a 2MB L2 cache and support for DDR2 and DDR3 memory. Aside from the X4 620 apparently targeting a below-$100 price point, further pricing and availability info isn’t available yet.

It might sound boring to some, but it’s these little things that make tiny PCs possible. Chipset maker SiS announced a new chipset for Intel’s Atom 230 CPU that can make your next desktop PC smaller than your (or your daughter’s) hardbound copy of Harry Potter.

Designated as the SiS672/96/307DV, the new chipset has been picked up by electronics manufacturer Pegatron for developing their Ultra Slim Atom NetTop project. The new NetTop platform takes up only 0.5L of space, and is designed to be slim and light enough to allow it to be hooked up behind a flat panel display for all-in-one PCs.

The SiS672/968 chipset itself supports Intel’s Atom 230 CPU and up to 2GBs of DDR2-667 memory, and integrates an SiS Mirage 3 Graphics for onboard video. The Mirage 3 integrated graphics chip should do well enough for 2D and 3D graphics, and features SiS Real Video Technology for HD playback under a Windows environment.

The chipset also features options for Wi-fi and Gigabit connectivity, as well as PCI-Express x1 interface, a couple of SATA2 ports, and up to six USB 2.0 ports for adding more peripherals to the system. It’s also pretty efficient for a nettop; the platform is set to run at under 22Watts of power.
