Maingear has introduced the Nomad 17, a custom gaming notebook that runs on Intel’s latest chips. Offered with a number of different configurations, the spec can be topped out with a third-gen Intel Core i7 processor with a 3.8GHz clock, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675M or GTX 680M graphics, and up to 32GB of RAM.
While the interior hardware can be changed to fit your needs and budget, the Maingear’s main selling point for this gaming notebook is on the outside. The company is offering a free custom paint job for every system bought, using premium automotive paint (painted by hand) on the lid. The Nomad 17’s page shows six possible colors that you can choose from, including black, purple, red, white, blue, and green.
The Nomad 17 also rocks a 17-inch display with a full HD 1080p resolution, a Blu-ray drive, HDMI, DVI-I, FireWire, Ethernet, and a mix of USB ports (2xUSB 2.0 and 3xUSB3.0) as standard. Storage can be configured with either a pair of 512MB SSDs, or two 750GB 7200rpm hard drives
The Maingear Nomad 17 starts at $1,600, and will start shipping on October 14th.
