After unveiling a number of new desktops and laptops, HP also unveiled a new 24-inch monitor with stylish looks and a super-slim body to match. Called the x2401, the monitor features a full 1080p HD resolution and LED backlighting, with style to match.
According to HP, the x2401 features an 8-bit Multi-domain Vertical Alignment (MVA) panel rather than the usual IPS for faster response times in exchange for a comparatively limited viewing angle. MVA comes with a slimmer viewing angle compared to IPS, but it’s still better than the common Twisted Nematic (TN) screens usually found on inexpensive digital displays.
Other features include a listed 5,000:1 static contrast ratio and a 10M:1 dynamic contrast ratio, as well as a DisplayPort and HDMI at the back for connecting to different devices. The x2401 also features a built-in stand at the back, as well as a wall mount.
The x2401 will start shipping on November 7 for $250. HP will also launch a business version called the L2401 on the same day that offers a longer three-year warranty for $10 more.
