It’s already out in white and blue – and red, if you’re an AT&T subscriber – but if you were waiting for Samsung to launch it in black, well, here’s the official word. And then some. Samsung has finally announced new colors for the Galaxy S III, but they’re not stopping with black (or ‘Sapphire Black’. In Samsung parlance). They’re introducing two more colors to go along with it: Amber Brown and Titanium Grey.
While the black kit looks to be done with a glossy finish, the two other colors will feature a nice textured paint job to reflect their nature-inspired designs. The Amber Brown is described to be “inspired by the mysterious and unique gem, which was believed to sustain the secrets of the earth inside it,” while the Titanium Grey is said to give off “the feeling of modernity and wisdom bringing a futuristic element to the handset.” Fancy.
Just so the rest of the line doesn’t feel left out, here’s a couple more descriptions for the colors: the Sapphire Black was “inspired by the stones used by the ancient people of India and Persia for protection, with the belief they strengthened one’s willpower,” while the AT&T-exclusive Garnet Red is said to be inspired by the Alamandite Garnet, which “was worn as an amulet by the ancient Egyptians who believed the stone contained protective powers.”
