Samsung has extended their line of Galaxy Player media players with a new, relatively huge, size upgrade. Like the name says, the Galaxy Player 5.8 is highlighted by a relatively huge 5.8-inch AMOLED screen, which makes it even bigger than the 5.3-inch Galaxy Note and the 4.3-inch Galaxy S III, but with a lower 960 x 540 resolution.
Aside from the huge screen places it about an inch between a compact tablet oversized smartphone, the rest of the spec is pretty typical for Samsung’s PMP line. The Galaxy Player 5.8 will feature a VGA front cam, Wi-fi and Bluetooth and GPS connectivity, a 2,500mAh batter, and Android 4.0 with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. It will be available in 16GB and 32GB versions that can be expanded with a microSD card slot.
Pricing and release dates weren’t given out, but more details are expected to be available once IFA 2012 rolls around later this week.
