It looks like we’re going to have a couple of nice Android smartphones with sliding QWERTY keypads within the next few days. After a recent leak revealed that T-Mobile might be rolling out the Galaxy S Blaze Q on August 15th, Sprint has announced that they’re going to start shipping Motorola’s slide-out smartphone with a similarly awkward name, the Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE, on August 19th.
Officially introduced back in late July, the Photon Q features a 4.3-inch ‘ColorBoost’ screen with a 540 x 960 resolution up front, and an 8-megapixel camera at the back with 1080p recording. Under the hood, the phone runs on a 1.5GHz processor and 1GB of RAM, as well as 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded with a card slot.
Connectivity features include an HDMI mirror mode that’ll let you show the screen on a TV or monitor, NFC tech with Android Beam, and support for Sprint’s LTE network.
The Photon Q costs $199.99 with a two-year-contract from Sprint. It’s currently up for pre-orders from Sprint.
