If you’re planning on getting a new smartphone, you might want to check out what Sprint is offering: if you get a new smartphone (with a new two-year contract from Sprint, of course), they’ll throw in a free ZTE Optik tablet. The tablet itself isn’t anything to really get excited about; it’s a budget-to-midrange tablet at best with a 7-inch screen, 1.2GHz processor and 16GB of storage. But as a throw-in for a new phone? Sounds good.
There’s a catch though: it’s not as “free” as you think. If you want to get the free tablet, you need to get a separate two-year (data) contract for the tablet, and you need to sign up for the two new contracts at the same time. It could still be a good deal if you’re looking for a new smartphone and a connected tablet on the cheap, but if you’re in it to get something for free? It’s only good if you’re willing to lock-in and pay for two new lines.
The offer is available from Sprint and third-party retailers until September 30th.
