Price Watch: Sprint chops $50 off iPhone 4S price

It’s about that time of the year again, when carriers and retailers are pushing to clear their inventories of the current iPhone model in anticipation of the new one. In case you haven’t heard, a lot of rumors point to Apple introducing a new iPhone at a September 12 event. But if you’ve heard about it and look at this time of year as a chance to get an iPhone 4S for cheap, then here’s one of the first of what we’re assuming to be a lot of price drops going down within the next couple of months. Sprint has dropped $50 off the price of all their iPhone 4S models (except for the 8GB version, which is still priced at $100), with the 16GB model now starting at $150.

Following the $50 price-cut, the 32GB now costs $250, while the 64GB version costs $350 with the usual two-year contract. While we expect iPhone 4S prices to similarly drop everywhere pretty soon, this looks like the lowest price so far, with both Verizon and AT&T still selling the 4S for $199.
